Misprint puts Boscobel alders on ballots for wrong districts, city says
Election's integrity 'has not been compromised,' according to city official

BOSCOBEL, Wis. — An unspecified number of absentee ballots for the April 5 election of candidates for two local alder races in Boscobel mistakenly list two incumbents under the wrong districts, the city said Monday.
In a Facebook post, city administrator/clerk/treasurer Misty Molzof said District 2 Ald. Stephanie Brown’s name was mistakenly printed on the District 3 ballot and District 3 Ald. Krissy Whiteaker-Schneider’s name was printed on the District 2 ballot. The ballots also use the word ward instead of the updated term “Alderperson District.”
Other races on the ballot were not affected by the misprint, she wrote.
“The integrity of the election has not been compromised, and we are working diligently on getting the ballots corrected and reissued to those City residents who voted absentee and are affected by this misprint,” Molzof said in the post.
Molzof attributed the mistake to a mix-up involving an incorrect file sent to the ballot printing company.
The city is working to get updated ballots for absentee voters and to use during a public test of voting equipment that has since been rescheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday, she added. Additional corrected ballots are set to arrive late in the week ahead of the election.
