MADISON, Wis. — A Minnesota man is facing OWI charges after he was arrested for driving the wrong way and crashing head-on into another vehicle.

Nicholas Rahlf, 28, of Houston, Minnesota was arrested just before 1 a.m. Monday on a tentative third OWI charge.

A report from the Wisconsin State Patrol said Rahlf was driving the wrong way in the westbound lanes of I-39/90 when he crashed his SUV into another vehicle.

State troopers said both vehicles were heavily damaged and both drivers were injured.

Rahlf allegedly refused to perform any sobriety tests or answer any questions.

He was taken to the hospital where a blood test showed he was above the legal limit.

He is the Dane County Jail awaiting an appearance in court.
