Minnesota company acquiring Webcrafters

A family-owned printing company with deep roots in Madison is being purchased by a Minnesota firm.

CJK Group, of Brainerd, Minnesota, said Monday that it’s acquiring Webcrafters, a company whose origins date back to 1868. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The company, which provides off-set printing, digital printing and bindery and finishing services, has been owned by the Frautschi family since the 1950s. It employs about 270 people.

The State Journal reports CJK CEO Chris Kurtzman says the acquisition will strengthen his company’s ability to serve educational publishing and book communities. CJK Group is the holding company for about half a dozen U.S. printing companies.
