Mildred Kmiecik

Mildred Kmiecik, 97 died Monday, July 2, 2012 peacefully at her home.
“Mickey” was born June 18, 1915 in Poplar Montana and grew up in McLaughlin, South Dakota and was an enrolled member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe.
She felt blessed to attend and graduate from St. Agnes School of Nursing in Fond du Lac, WI in the mid 1930’s. Her passion for nursing extended over 50 years as a Registered Nurse at Mauston Hess Memorial Hospital and the Tomah VA Hospital. Even after retirement she continued her passion for caring and serving others in the community in many volunteer activities. She was a devoted member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Mauston.
Mildred is survived by her children Gary of Minocqua, WI, Neil of Ironwood, MI, Margo of Milwaukee, WI and Paul of Middleton, WI and several grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her infant son Michael, husband Francis and a grandchild.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 5, 2012 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Mauston, where friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of services. Burial will be at St. Patrick Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Touch, Tomah, WI and the Cancer Survivor Foundation.
