Michael “Mike” Larsen

MADISON-Michael “Mike” Larsen, age 58, of Madison, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Wednesday, May 2, 2012.

He was born on June 12, 1953, in Milwaukee, the son of Leo and Mary (Cerniglia) Larsen.

He graduated from LaFollette High School in 1971. He was a member of the Madison Drum and Bugle Corp. After graduation from high school, he worked for Oscar Mayer’s briefly. He then was employed by Webcrafters, where he worked for 39 years until his health forced him to retire.

Mike was a gentle, quiet man. He would do anything for anybody without thought to himself. As his great niece, Elyse, remembers, “He always found and gave the funniest birthday cards.”

Mike is survived by his brother, Leo (Patti) Larsen of Waunakee; nieces, Lisa (Tim) Lerdahl, Cynthia (Matt) Bednarchik, and Amber (Todd) Taylor; great-nieces and nephews, Ryan and Natalie Taylor, Evan and Ian Wilson, Elyse Krueger, and Josh, Joe, and Sam Lerdahl; and great-great-nephews and great-great-niece, Cooper, Gauge, and Kinley; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2012.

Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Sunday.
