Michael F. Davis

Michael F. Davis

Michael F. Davis, age 78, of Janesville, died on Monday, Aug. 14, 2017.

He lived a full life. Michael was born in Chicago on July 24, 1939, the son of Russell and Lyda (Schak) Davis. In 1961, he married Linda (Bock), the love of his life. Mike and Linda’s love story lasted 56 years. They adored and celebrated their five children and 12 grandchildren. After raising their family in the Chicago suburbs, Mike and Linda moved to Janesville in 2003 and quickly felt at home as the community welcomed and embraced them.

Michael was an entrepreneur to his core. He started his first business at age 18 and never stopped living his dream — building, creating, persevering. He battled daily with multiple sclerosis for over forty years but never let it hold him back. Mike set an example for both his family and his employees by working tirelessly and with utmost integrity. His intellect, humor, loyalty, business acumen and love of Chicago sports teams are traits shared by his children and grandchildren.

Michael is survived by his wife, Linda Davis; 5 children: Deborah (Ronald) Schmidt of Illinois, Renee (Wesley) Carder of Illinois, Jeffrey (Judith) Davis of Texas, Timothy (Kerry) Davis of Nevada and Daniel (Sheri) Davis of Illinois; 12 grandchildren: Alexander, Danielle, Hayden, Dakota, Hunter, Breeanna, Madeline, Jacob, Andrew, Rory, Matthew and Luke; siblings: Russell (Alice) Davis, Linda (Scott) Rehberg and Susan Durkalski; and many other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Patrick Davis (Claire) and Thomas (Roseann) Davis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 18, 2017, at ST. JOHN VIANNEY CATHOLIC CHURCH with the Very Rev. Paul Ugo Arinze officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Church.
