Michael D. Hanson

Michael D. Hanson, 64, of Whitewater, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Agrace Center for Hospice and Palliative Care in Janesville.

Michael was born on January 24, 1953 in Viroqua, WI, son of the late Julius and Josie (Ellefson) Hanson. He married Arlys Kaiser on August 2, 1976.

Michael worked for many years at Redi-Serve in Fort Atkinson. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, horses, watching Dukes of Hazard and spending time with family. He appreciated old cars, attending car shows, a good cup of coffee, Pepsi and Old Style.

Michael is survived by his sisters, Marijean VanMinsel of Onalaska, Judy Kinney of Fort Atkinson and Shirley Long of Fort Atkinson; sister-in-law, Shirley Hanson of Fort Atkinson; his cat, Princess, many nieces and nephews and friend and case manager, Sarah. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Arlys; sisters, Leona Hutchison and Bonnie Bohland and brother, Gordon Hanson.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the Dunlap Memorial Home, 604 S. Main Street, Fort Atkinson. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. on Saturday at the memorial home until time of service.
