Medical Examiner’s Office identifies man who died after crashing during police chase

MAPLE BLUFF, Wis. — The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office identified a man Thursday who died following a police chase in Maple Bluff on Sunday.
Brandon D. Gulley, 28, of Madison died Monday at a local hospital. The cause and manner of his death were not released.

Maple Bluff police said they tried to stop Gulley while he was driving on Sunday morning but he refused to pull over. After a chase, he crashed his car into a tree in the 300 block of Woodland Circle. Police said he tried to run from the scene but was quickly taken into custody. He was brought to a local hospital where he later died.
Police said three other people who were in the car with Gulley at the time of the crash were taken to a hospital with minor injuries. No officers were injured during the incident.
The Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation is investigating the incident and an officer involved in the pursuit was placed on administrative leave.
