Medical examiner conducted autopsies on teens who drowned in Lake Kegonsa

Authorities say no evidence of trauma

STOUGHTON, Wis. — Initial autopsies were performed on the two teenage girls who drowned in Lake Kegonsa a few days ago.
The medical examiner hasn’t issued an official cause of death yet. Authorities said the exams didn’t show any trauma but more testing is being done.
A final cause will be determined after those results come back in a few weeks.
Emma Maurer, 16, and Sydnie Kwiatkowski, 15, were found dead on Friday after they were reported missing the night before.
Both had just finished 10th grade at Stoughton High School.
