McCabe signs with Sabres

MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin junior defenseman Jake McCabe has decided to forego his senior season at UW and join the Buffalo Sabres. McCabe signed with the team on Wednesday.

He is expected to make his NHL debut Thursday when the Sabres play the St. Louis Blues.

McCabe was First Team All-Big Ten selection in 2013-2014. He scored 25 points in 36 games. That total was the second highest among defensemen in the Big Ten.
