Maurice Hunter

JANESVILLE— Maurice “Butch” V. Hunter, Jr., age 58, of Janesville, died on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center, Janesville. He was born in Janesville on Sept. 8, 1953, the son of Maurice V. and Ruth (Bruhn) Hunter, Sr. He graduated from Parker High School in 1971, and married Maureen Gunn in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on July 13, 1985. Butch retired after 34 years from General Motors when the plant closed, and had been a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Milton. He enjoyed fishing, bow hunting, woodworking and was an Indy Car racing fan.
Butch is survived by his wife, Maureen Hunter; 2 children, Heather (Nick) Kliefoth and Andy Hunter both of Janesville; mother, Ruth Hunter of Janesville; brother, Todd Hunter of Appleton; 2 sisters, Patricia (Leonard) Willing of Ft. Wayne, IN and Jo Ellen (Tom) Schumacher of Baldwin, WI; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; and brother, Michael Hunter.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 18, 2012, at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, Milton with Msgr. James Uppena officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY and again on Monday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
