Matilda M. Breunig

Matilda “Tillie” M. Breunig, age 95, died March 16, 2013 at her home. She was born on August 27, 1917 in Plain, WI the daughter of William and Anne (Alt) Grauvogl. She was united in marriage to Paul J. Breunig on May 28, 1940 at St. Lukes Catholic Church, Plain, WI. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Catholic Christian Women, Catholic Daughters and Royal Neighbors. Tillie enjoyed cooking and baking, making rosaries and quilting.

She is survived by 4 children, Lloyd (Pat), Harley (Linda), Lyle, Nancy , all of Sauk City; 1 daughter-in-law, Joanne Curless; 22 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, 1 sister, Mary Breunig; 1 sister in law, Katie Breunig. Further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by 2 sons, Orlie and Bob , a grandson Joe , 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

The family wishes to extend appreciation to Home Health United Hospice and Dr. Tom Varley for their care and concern. A special thank you to Father John Blewett, Father Alex, Father Faustino and Father Jared for their weekly visits over the last several years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Sauk City, WI with Father John Blewett officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hooverson Funeral Home, Sauk City, WI where the Council of Catholic Women will pray the Rosary at 3:30 p.m. A visitation will also be from10:30 a.m until 11:15 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Aloysius Church or Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital Foundation.
