Marzella Mae Jakim

MAUSTON, Wis. — Marzella Mae. Jakim, 98 of Mauston passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Crest View Nursing Home, New Lisbon, where she resided since February.

Marzella was born on May 22, 1919 to William and Myrtle (Robinson) Brandt. She was baptized on October 5, 1930 and confirmed on July 22, 1934 St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. She graduated from Mauston High School in 1937.

Marzella was united in marriage to William Jakim on April 14, 1947 and they were happily married until his death on December 4, 2008. Marzella worked as a manager clerk at the Grote store in Mauston and also at Hanson’s Department Store. Bill retired from Civil Service in 1981 and they spent many happy years traveling to Green Valley, Arizona for winter golfing. Mazella was preceded in death by her husband William, her parents, her sister Edna Pfaff and two infant sisters.

She leaves behind many devoted wonderful friends, her cousin Jack Brandt and Bill’s cousin Stephanie Jakim of Lanesboro, MN.

The family request memorials may be made to Juneau County Senior Nutrition Program (Meals on Wheels) or the Mauston Relay for Life.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at St. Paul Catholic Church, New Lisbon where friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

Interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery.
