Mary Jo Blair, age 88, of Madison, passed away on Monday, Aug. 7, 2017, at Oak Park Place. She was born on July 9, 1929, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Cleary) Zurfluh. Mary Jo graduated from Nekoosa High School in 1947, and received her bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Education from Marquette University. She married Philip Blair on April 24, 1954, at St. Sebastian, Milwaukee. Mary Jo worked as a teacher for St. Dennis Catholic School and was an active member at St. Dennis Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing bridge with friends, puzzles, game shows, taking walks and reading. Mary Jo loved spending time with her family and they were chosen to be contestants on Family Feud in 1982. Mary Jo is survived by her husband, Phil; sons, Don (Dawn), Jeff (Lisa), and Mike (Karolyn); daughter, Linda (Greg) Meier; daughter-in-law, Marilaine Blair Patrick; grandchildren, Dan (Lacy) Blair, Kelsey (Carlos) Henriquez, Katie (Bryan) Davis, Kristin, Kevin, Alex, Andrew, Alyssa, Jaxson, Justyn and Drew Blair; step-grandsons, Adam and Jonathon White; great-grandsons, Liam and Noah Blair; and several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Phil Blair; and brothers, Jim and Bill Zurfluh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Rd., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 11, 2017, with Father Randy Timmerman presiding. Entombment will be held at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Friday. The family wishes to thank the staff of Oak Park Place, and Heartland Hospice for all of their wonderful care and support.
