Mary J. Quartuccio

MADISON, Wis — Mary J. Quartuccio, age 85, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Oregon Manor. She was born on Feb. 15, 1932, in Madison, the daughter of Nicholas and Jenny Quartuccio. Mary worked in the clerical department at American Family Insurance in Madison, later for ABS before opening her own printing business with her partner, Helen Ballweg. She always had a smile on her face and was a very complementary woman who made those around her feel good. Mary was an animal lover, especially her beloved poodle and loved traveling to Door County. She enjoyed a good game of bingo and a competitive game of cards with her community on Femrite Dr. Mary always made a point to keep in touch with those who were important to her, especially attending class reunions with her classmates from East High. She is survived by her brother, Anthony (Pam) Quartuccio; two nieces, Jane (Dick) Fasking, JoAnn Janecek; and her life-long friend, Pat Butcher. Mary was preceded in death by father, Nicholas; mother, Jenny; four siblings, John D. and Joseph Quartuccio, Rose Staggs and Florence Harvey; and friend and business partner, Helen Ballweg. Memorial Services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 5 p.m., on Friday, June 2, 2017, with Chaplain Stephen J. Zwettler presiding. Burial, at Roselawn Memorial Park, will be at a later date. A gathering time will be held from 3:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
