Mary J. Polos

JANESVILLE/AKRON, OH— Mary J. Polos, age 84, of Janesville, formerly of Akron, OH, died Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at Our House, Janesville. She was born in Brightwood, OH, on Sept. 16, 1927, moving to Akron, OH, when she married Gus Alan Polos in Aug. 1946. Mary was a member of Lakeview Church of Christ in Akron until she moved to Janesville, WI, in June 1999 when she joined Cargill United Methodist Church. Mary was a member of Eastern Star for 47 years, active member in her church, loved sewing, reading and being with her grandchildren and her many friends.
She is survived by her 2 sons, Darryl “Skip” (Deb) Polos of Akron, OH, and Dwite (Pat) Polos of Munroe Falls, OH; a daughter, Penny (Eric) Gramley of Janesville, WI; a sister, Joan Meese of New Philadelphia, OH; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; 2 brothers; and 2 sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2012, at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY, Janesville, with Rev. Stu Allen officiating. Visitation will take place on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY and again on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park Chapel, Akron, OH. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice, Rockford.
