Mary E. Dow

MADISON-Mary E. Dow, age 76, of Madison, passed away on Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at Belmont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on Oct. 18, 1936, in Elmira, New York, the daughter of Manuel and Rebecca (Beardsley) Elkin. Mary married Robert Dow on June 29, 1956, in St. Clair Shores, Mich. She loved music and was a well-known pianist throughout the state. She also enjoyed cross-stitch and needlepoint.

Mary is survived by her husband of 57 years, Reverend Robert Dow; sons, Dale (Janet) Dow, David (Carmelina Rivera) Dow, Jonathan (Kim) Dow, and Brian (Karin) Dow; ten grandchildren; and a great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Paul Elkin.

Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, with the Rev. Gerald Marsden presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, and also from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.
