Mary Ann Esther Tilley Daffner

Mary Ann Esther Tilley Daffner

Mary Ann Esther Tilley Daffner left this world and entered into the arms of her Heavenly Father on November 1, 2022.

Mary Ann was born July 14, 1930, in Brooklyn, Wisconsin to Henry and Margaret (Pederson) Tilley. She later moved to the Blue Mounds area, attending school and graduating from Arena High School. She completed one year at Madison Business College before moving to Washington D.C. with her sister, Marie. It was there that she met and married Wallace Daffner on April 1, 1950.

Being the bride of a USAF serviceman, she and her husband often moved around the upper Midwest before being permanently stationed at Truax Air Force Base in Madison. The couple and their two children then settled in Verona, Wisconsin. When Wallace retired, they moved to rural Stoughton. As empty-nesters, they moved to New Port Richey, Florida. When the grandchildren began arriving, they moved back to Wisconsin to be close to family.

Mary Ann was an amazingly creative seamstress and enjoyed making clothes for herself, her daughter, and her granddaughters. She also enjoyed gardening, and folks marveled at the landscaping and flowers in her yard. When Wallace passed away in 2002, Mary Ann became a volunteer driver for ADRC and drove for the elderly right up until her 90th birthday.

Mary Ann was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, but over the last two years, she attended Lafayette County Christian Church with her daughter and son-in-law.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her five siblings: Gordon, Marie, Lillian, Ben, and Henry.

Mary Ann is survived by her son, Wallace (Barbara) Daffner of Hutchinson, MN; her daughter, Peggie (Mickey) James of Dodgeville, WI; her grandchildren: Willy (Bailey), Emma, Kelsey (Jeramiah), Kyndra, and Craig; her grandchildren: Tatum, Waylon, Cheyenne, Willy, and Jasper; and many other family members and friends.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home, Dodgeville.
