Mary Alice Shea

Mary Alice Shea, age 80, of Janesville, died on Monday, April 9, 2012, while on vacation in the Cayman Islands.
She was born in Janesville on Aug. 28, 1931, the daughter of Palen and Catherine Bostwick. She graduated from Janesville High School in 1949, and married her high school sweetheart, John Shea on July 29, 1950. Mary was an active member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church and sang in the church choir. She enjoyed reading, traveling (especially to Hawaii), following her favorite sports teams and spending time with her family and friends. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, caring friend with a kind heart and spirit of generosity.
Mary will be dearly missed by her 6 children: Steve (Gigi) Shea of Rock Springs, WY, Bob (Kathy) Shea of Clinton, WI, Pat (Kathy) Shea of Woodstock, IL, Dan (Nancy) Shea of Brookfield, WI, Katie (Rob) Hamilton of Janesville and John (Emily) Shea of Madison, WI; 9 grandchildren: Gina, Cassandra, Mariah, Spencer, Andy, Rachel, Chase, Tye and Charlie; 1 great grandchild, Charlotte; and her brother, David Bostwick of Janesville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and 2 children, Susie and Charlie.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at ST. JOHN VIANNEY CATHOLIC CHURCH with Rev. Randy Timmerman officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
A visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY.
