Marjorie Carol (Wegger) Hoppman
WAUNAKEE/OREGON-Marjorie Carol (Wegger) Hoppman, age 95, of Waunakee, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Oregon Manor. She was born on May 23, 1922, in Sun Prairie, the daughter of Joseph Frank and Louise (Kruse) Waters. Marjorie graduated from Sun Prairie High School, class of 1941 and moved to Baltimore MD, worked for GE and made radios for the war. Marjorie moved back to Madison and worked for Oscar Meyer. She later worked in administration at the Wisconsin State Patrol for 20 years. Marjorie loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as with the Red Hatters. She loved cooking, reading, bargain shopping, gardening and making lefsa at St. Johns. Marjorie was a positive person who had a great outlook on life, she could talk to anyone and enjoyed being around people. She was meticulous, loved traveling and spent her winters in Florida. Marjorie was a member of the Weekenders group in Stoughton, where she made many good friends and had many good times. She was a hard worker, and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who always made sure the family had what they needed. Marjorie is survived by son, Larry (Dawn) Wegger; daughter, Bonnie (Don) Dorn; sister-in-law, Pearl Frank; brother-in-law, Francis Brewster; two granddaughters, Alison Wegger and Dawn (Dale) Wendt; one grandson, Benjamin (Aimee) Bauman; four great-grandsons, Devon Wegger, Mason Hilliard, Griffin Bauman and Derrick (Grace) Wendt; two great-granddaughters, Anna Wendt and Rylie Bauman; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stanley Wegger; grandson, Jason Wegger; four sisters, Ruth (Walter) Barth, Nancy Brewster, Betty (Andrew) Kessnich and Shirley (Martin) Swenson; three brothers, Robert (Beatrice) Waters, Jim (Kathryn) Waters and Leon Frank.
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 Park St, Oregon, at 12 noon on Friday, June 30, 2017, with Pastor Randy Hunter presiding. Burial will be held at Prairie Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
