Marie Jean Jones

Marie Jean Jones, age 67 years of Wisconsin Dells died on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at the Agrace HospiceCare in Madison. She was born on July 26, 1944 in Baraboo to Wilferd and Alto (Needham) Stewart.

Marie was a graduate from Baraboo High School. She had lived in Sauk Prairie for a few years before moving to the Lake Delton/Wisconsin Dells area about 22 years ago. Marie had been a school bus driver for the Sauk Prairie district, worked for 15 years at Almett-Lawn Lite in Baraboo and then had retired from the Baraboo National Bank where she had worked for 12 years. She was united in marriage to Gerald Jones on May 19, 1995 in Baraboo. Marie was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Wisconsin Dells and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cross stitch, gardening, volunteering at church and spending time with her dog “Shadow”.

Survivors include her husband – Gerald “Gerry” Jones of Wisconsin Dells; 2 children – Kenneth (Susan) Block of Prairie du Sac and Laura Block of Cheyenne, WY; 6 step-children – Garold Jones of Maple Grove, MN, Damon Jones of Hendersonville, NC, Theresa Jones-Marshall of Pittsville, WI, Michael (Monica) Jones of Pittsville, WI, Kimberly (Jeff) Facemyer of Ellenboro, NC and Melanie Jones of Bostic, NC; 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 2 sisters – Barbara Stewart of Mazomanie and Patricia (Jack) Kirner of Prairie du Sac. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandmother – Annie Stewart.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the United Presbyterian Church, 730 Cedar St. Wisconsin Dells with Rev. Joe Corbin officiating. Burial will be held at the Zion Memorial Cemetery, rural Prairie du Sac. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9 AM until 11 AM.
