Margaret Regina Wold
Rockford – Margaret Regina Wold died peacefully on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 9:55 p.m. surrounded by her family after a brief struggle with heart failure. Margaret was born on August 11, 1934, in Tomah Wisconsin, the daughter of Edwin A. Schendel and Wilma Koehler.
Margaret was a lover of dancing, country music and family. The most important part of life was her children, and a normal day consisted of having kids at the house and utilizing her “spicy” sense of humor.
Margaret married her soul mate Richard Donald Wold on June 28, 1958, in Woodstock IL – this was after knowing he was “the one” from the first time she saw him. They had a loving marriage for 17 years and during that time, had 4 children: Richard Donald Jr., Michael Allen , Janna Marie and Sharla Rae. Richard and Margaret moved to Rockford, IL where Richard built up their business – Blackhawk Drywall. Margaret stayed at home and raised the children while he worked and traveled.
After Richard passed away on November 19, 1976, Margaret lived through her children. She was notorious for turning her house into a safe, “kid-friendly” place for all her children’s friends to come and unwind. Every year, she made sure her children had at least one trip to Great America where the family learned the love of adventure and roller coasters. She had a swimming pool and recreation room built where many birthday and slumber parties took place. In addition, Margaret purchased a player piano where many nights of singing and being goofy took place. Margaret was so much fun and absolutely loved and adored her children. We feel very Blessed to have had her all these years and cherish the memories and numerous fun times that were created.
Margaret is survived by 4 children: Richard Donald Wold Jr. (Cherri), Michael Allen Wold, Janna Wold Dale (Leonard), and Sharla Rae Wold; 7 grandchildren: Corey Wold, Jami Wold, Brandi Wold, Justin Wold, Zachary Dale, Baylie Dale, and Ryder Ealey; one brother: Donald Schendel, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
There will be a private chapel service on Saturday, July 29th, at the Resurrection Catholic Cemetery Chapel from 11:00-11:30 a.m. – we invite you to join us. The address is 2705 Regent Street, Madison WI 53705. Also, there will be a celebration of life on Sunday in Rockford IL – TBD.
