Margaret M. “Marge” Castillo

MADISON – Margaret “Marge” M. Castillo, age 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 6, 2013. Marge was born in Stendal, Germany on July 29, 1924 to William and Margaret Pfeiffer. She arrived in United States in 1925 on the SS Albert Ballin at Ellis Island. Marge met and married the love of her life Jim Castillo and had 3 children. She was a crossing guard for the city of Madison for 40+ years, where she deeply cared for “her kids” and kept them safe as they walked to and from school. Marge had a passion for bingo, playing cards and spending time with her family and friends. Marge will be deeply missed and in our daily thoughts and prayers always.

Marge is survived by her children, Linda (Matt) Kleinschmidt, Bill (Patty) and Nancy (Shannon) Wareham; grandchildren, Mike Fox, Tina, Katie and Kyle Kleinschmidt, Cody Beau and Payton; great-grandchildren; siblings, Jack (Loraine) Pfeiffer, Ralph Pfeiffer and Esther Vergeront; brother-in-law, John Hanson; many nieces and nephews. She is further survived by many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim; parents; sister, Norma Hanson; sister-in-law Teresa Pfeiffer; brother-in-law, George Vergeront and niece, Annette Pfeiffer.

A service will be held at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, at noon on Thursday, January 10, 2013, with Reverend Dean Kirst presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10AM until the time of the service on Thursday. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. A special thanks to staff at Capitol Lakes Health Center, Northside Senior Coalition, Agrace and Heartland Hospice.
