Marcia Dee Welch
Fitchburg – Marcia Dee Welch, age 76, of Fitchburg, WI passed away July 8th from complications due to Alzheimer’s.
Born to the late M.D. and Maxine Newcomer, January 24, 1946, in Galesburg, IL, Marcia graduated from Galesburg High School then received a B.A. in Biology from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1968. After graduating college Marcia married in Denver CO, raised two children in the Chicago area, and relocated to Madison, WI to pursue growing her business and personal interests.
Marcia is survived by her family and the many, many people she made an indelibly positive impact on.
In 1986 Marcia Welch took a chance on herself, trusted her instincts, and founded Newcomer Supply. 37 years later Newcomer Supply is a leading histology supply company providing products to laboratories all over the country. Marcia would be proud to see what she built continues to grow and thrive. Those of you who knew Marcia know that she was an energetic, straightforward person with little tolerance for people’s BS. For that and many more reasons everyone who knew her, loved and respected Marcia, and her outsized personality.
