Man tries to get 9-year-old into truck, police say

Girl was walking home from school Monday afternoon

MADISON, Wis. — A 9-year-old girl said a stranger tried to get her into his truck as she walked home from school Monday afternoon, according to a release.

The girl goes to Leopold Elementary School, and is not exactly sure where she was on Post Road when the truck pulled up near her around 1:45 p.m., Madison police said.

The truck is described as a two-door, tan with some rust, according to the release. The driver is described as a white man in his 30s with slicked back blond hair. He was wearing a green T-shirt.

The girl told police she ran to an area where there were trusted adults, and they called police.
