Man tries to flee officers, crashes car into a tree

A 34-year-old man faces numerous charges after he crashed his car into a tree while trying to flee police on the city’s southeast side Monday.

The incident happened just before 2 p.m. in the 4000 block of Evan Acres Road near the Ho-Chunk Casino in Madison.

According to police, Justin Greene was observed to have drug paraphernalia in his car by officers. Police said when Green saw the police, he attempted to drive away and crashed his car. Greene then gets out of the car and tried to flee on foot, according to police.

Police said Greene resisted police during the incident, causing minor injuries to a number of officers.
