Madison police are looking for a man who threatened to stab a woman Friday afternoon on Madison’s west side.

A woman was taking her garbage out just before 3 p.m. on North Burberry Drive when a knife-wielding robber approached her and demanded money, according to a release.

The woman told officers the blade came within inches of her stomach, when she said “I don’t have any money. All I have is my trash.”

The man continued to threaten the woman with the knife, saying he was going to stab her, according to the release.

He eventually ran away when she told him she was calling the police.

The man is described as black, 25-32 years old, 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing 175 pounds with short hair, no facial hair and a dark complexion. He was wearing an emerald green hooded sweatshirt and black pants or sweatpants.
