Man suspected of stealing from garage, police say
Man spotted in garage downtown Tuesday

MADISON, Wis. — A 54-year-old Madison is suspected of stealing from a garage at an east side home, according to a news release from Madison police.
Officers were called at 9:10 p.m. Tuesday to the 300 block of South Baldwin Street on a report of a burglary in progress. A resident said he spotted a man in his garage stealing things.
Police said officers were on the scene within a couple of minutes and spotted a suspect. They said he was riding a bike and pulling a cart.
Officers said the cart contained tires, a window air-conditioning unit and other items stolen from the home on South Baldwin Street.
Vincent J. Barkus was arrested on suspicion of burglary, criminal damage to property and possession of burglarious tools and on a probation violation.
