A Madison-area man who pleaded guilty to a charge in the death of his girlfriend’s 2-month-old son was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Corey L. Holly, 25, of Fitchburg, was charged with first-degree reckless homicide for causing the death of the 2-month-old on Feb. 23, 2015.

During sentencing on Friday, Holly was also sentenced to six additional years of prison on a previous charge because his probation had been revoked, and 20 years of extended supervision. He was also ordered to not have contact with Pulliam’s mother.

A criminal complaint stated Holly told police that he “lost it” and squeezed the boy because he wouldn’t stop crying. Court documents reported the boy died from blunt force trauma to the torso.

Holly tearful when he apologized at sentencing.

Under a plea agreement, Deputy District Attorney Corey Stephan could seek up to 20 years in prison.

Holly was already serving prison sentences until 2021 for robbery convictions after his parole for them was revoked.
