Man missing for a month located, safe

A West Baraboo man who had not been heard from for more than a month is safe, officials said Saturday.
The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office said 30-year-old Nicholas P. Moen had gone missing after a work related disciplinary matter on May 11. In mid-May, the sheriff’s office issued a release on its investigation into Moen’s disappearance.
In the early stages of the investigation, numerous attempts to locate Moen were unsuccessful, according to the release. Sauk County detectives, working with Moens’ family, believed they had made contact with him via social media, but officials said that couldn’t be verified until personal contact was made and his well-being was confirmed.
On Saturday, Moen presented himself to officers at the police department in Colfax. Colfax police told Sauk County Moen was safe and verified his well-being. Moen was with family members while at the police department.
The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office thanked the public for the numerous tips during the investigation.
