Man in custody after reports of holding children in home near high school

SAUK PRAIRIE, Wis. — Sauk County Police Department is responding to a report of a barricaded subject near Sauk Prairie High School, Sauk County Sheriff Chip Meister tells News 3.
A male suspect is now in custody who had a 6- and 2-year-old child in the home. Officials are still on scene, and there is still a perimeter at this point, Meister said.
Students who were at school for practices and events were evacuated and parents can pick them up at Grand Avenue School. Some students were taken to Graceway church, according to Sauk Prairie officials.
The Sauk Prairie High School bonfire was canceled, according to Sauk County officials.
