Man found passed out in running vehicle faces 7th OWI

A Fitchburg man faces his seventh drunken driving charge after being found Saturday night passed out behind the wheel of a running vehicle, officials said.

Oregon police were sent around 8:10 p.m. to the parking lot of Kwik Trip at 856 N. Main St. for reports of a man passed out at the wheel of a vehicle, according to a release.

Officers found the driver, 44-year-old Craig A. Coy, unresponsive, and the engine of the vehicle was running with the keys in the ignition, police said.

Coy refused to complete field sobriety tests and resisted officers, according to the release.

He was arrested on tentative charges of seventh-offense operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and resisting arrest. He was also arrested on a misdemeanor bail-jumping charge.
