Man charged with possession of child porn
Arrest is part of nationwide Homeland Security Investigations initiative
MADISON, Wis. — A Madison man has been charged with 14 counts of possession of child pornography.
Grant M. Rondorf was charged with the felony counts last Friday. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Dane County Circuit Court on Thursday.
On Jan. 29, federal agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations, along with special agents from the Wisconsin Department of Justice’s Division of Criminal Investigation, executed a federal search warrant at Rondorf’s home in the 300 block of West Village Green Lane on Madison’s far east side.
According to the criminal complaint, the suspect’s IP address and email account had been associated with child pornography.
During an interview at his home, Rondorf admitted to agents that he possesses, collects and distributes child pornography, according to the complaint.
A forensic preview of files from a laptop computer and removable storage device, both belonging to Rondorf, uncovered 10 video files and dozens of images consistent with child pornography, according to the complaint.
The investigation was part of Operation Predator, a nationwide Homeland Security Investigations initiative to protect children from sexual predators, including those who travel overseas for sex with minors, Internet child pornographers, criminal illegal immigrant sex offenders and child sex traffickers.
