Man charged in connection with Penn Park shooting, Park street crash

MADISON, Wis. — A Missouri man was charged Wednesday in connection with a shooting at Penn Park that led to a traffic crash on Park Street last week, Madison police said.
A man who was shot in a Madison park April 4 crashed his car into a utility pole on South Park Street, according to Madison police. The driver, a 38-year-old man, was still in the car and had gunshot wounds.
Police said they believed the victim was shot around 1 a.m. at Penn Park. Officers said they believed the victim was targeted.
On April 6, 24-year-old Marvin Houston, of Steele, Missouri, was arrested in connection with the shooting. He was charged Wednesday with attempted first-degree intentional homicide and being a felon in possession of a handgun.
He will be back in court on Tuesday for a preliminary hearing.
