Several random physical attacks reported on west side, man arrested

MADISON, Wis. — Police say a man is facing 5 different counts of battery and damage to property charges after allegedly randomly attacking people at two west side businesses Thursday night.

According to a release, police received a call for a disturbance at the Walgreens on Whitney Way at 8:43 p.m.

After arriving, police found a victim that said they were randomly attacked. The suspect was seen running away towards the Hyvee nearby.

Police said they then received a call from someone at Hyvee that said someone was physically attacking random people there.

They arrested the man at the Hyvee. He faces one count of substantial battery and four counts of simply battery charges. He also could also be charged with at least one count of damage to property.
