Man arrested in stabbing case

A Beloit man was arrested after another Beloit man was found with stab wounds Sunday afternoon, according to a release from Beloit police.
Police said someone approached a Rock County sheriff’s deputy patrolling near the corner of Wisconsin Avenue and Harvey Street at 3:43 p.m. and said someone had been stabbed at 1519 Wisconsin Ave.
Police found Shawndell Summerville, 44, of Beloit, at the home and suffering stab wounds to the back and arm. He was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
A suspect, Olton Dumas, 58, was found in the area of Keeler and Wisconsin avenues. Summerville and Dumas know each other, according to police.
Dumas was arrested on suspicion of attempted first-degree homicide, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
