Man arrested for attempted homicide after roommate attacked

BELOIT, Wis. — A Beloit man was arrested on suspicion of attempted homicide after another man was attacked and injured, according to a release from Beloit police.

Officers were called at 7:45 a.m. Saturday to the 700 block of Brooks Street, where they found a 49-year-old man with injuries. He was treated and released from a hospital.

Police said they found and arrested the victim’s roommate, 53-year-old Bennie L. Jones, the same day. They said the victim was attacked with an edged weapon.

There is no threat to the community, according to the release.
