Man arrested after stealing Janesville car, committing several other thefts, police say

JANESVILLE, Wis. — A 46-year-old man was arrested last week after a car was stolen from a Janesville home.
According to a news release, Patrick J. Ryan, of Milton, was arrested on suspicion of several charges, including driving while intoxicated and burglary.
The release said a white Mitsubishi Lancer was stolen from the area of 300 West Milwaukee Street in the city on May 12 .
Police said the car was seen several times in Janesville over the following days. It was eventually found in the 2700 block of West Court Street before 4 p.m. on May 16.
Authorities said Ryan, who was seen driving the car, was taken into custody without incident.
After searching the car, police said Ryan had committed several burglaries and thefts since stealing it four days earlier. Some of the property was able to be returned to its owners, officials said.
Ryan is being held at the Rock County Jail.
