Man arrested after altercation with woman, police say

A Madison man was arrested after an altercation with a woman involving a gun, according to a release from Madison police.

Police were called to the 1100 block of Sherman Avenue at 6:30 p.m. Sunday on a report of a dispute.

Officers said Terry J. Rice, 33, was in an altercation with a 23-year-old woman from Sun Prairie. Officers were initially told a gun was pointed at the woman, but the woman told police that didn’t happen.

Rice was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm by a felon, bail jumping and on a parole violation.
