Kirby Snead allowed just two hits in six innings as the Madison Mallards opened the second half of the Northwoods League season with an 8-1 win over the Kalamazoo Growlers at Warner Park Wednesday night.

Snead (2-0) allowed just one run with no walks and five strikeouts.

Connor Marabell led the Mallards offense with three hits and three runs batted in.

Alex Bacon also had two hits and scored two runs. Trace Tam Sing added two hits and two runs scored.

The Growlers and Mallards continue their series Thursday night at 7:05 at Warner Park.
