Magdalena Goldade

MADISON-Magdalena Goldade, age 89, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Oak Park Place.
She was born on Sept. 25, 1927, in Ventura, N.D., the daughter of Philip and Catherine (Frison) Lacher. Magdalena was a member and chaplain of Ladies of the Moose, and a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church for over 40 years, volunteering in many areas of the church. She worked as an LPN for St. Luke’s Hospital in Aberdeen, S.D. from 1950 – 1953.
Magdalena met Eugene Goldade through Eugene’s sister, Bernice while she was working at the hospital. They were united in marriage on May 21, 1953, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aberdeen, S.D.
Magdalena enjoyed crocheting, collecting antiques and knick-knacks, dancing the polka, needlepoint, cooking, gardening, canning tomatoes, traveling, watching soap operas and helped to raise her grandkids and great-grandkids.
After raising her family she went to work for McCrory’s, East Towne. She loved spending time with her family and cooked dinner for them every Sunday.
Magdalena is survived by her husband, Eugene; children, Katherine Goldade, Jo Ann (John) Terasa; Eugene (Ann Treu) Goldade, Bruce (Cathy Lee) Goldade, Sharon Goldade and Bryan (Gena) Goldade; grandchildren, Matthew (Jennifer) Terasa; Amanda (Craig) Johnson, Melissa Goldade, Jennifer Goldade, Samantha Goldade and Justin (Candice) Strack ; great-grandchildren, MaKenzie and Brielle Johnson, Anthony DeLucia and Michael Terasa, Jaiden and Brinley Strack; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Lacher and Clara Lacher; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters, Joseph (Kay), Eugene, Peter, Rose, Martha (Jack), Elizabeth (Clarence), Eva (Roy), Jacob, Sebastian and Matthew.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2450 Atwood Ave., Madison, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2017, with Father Michael Radowicz presiding. Burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the church from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Saturday.

To lose your mom and grandmom is to lose a very close and loyal friend who has known and loved all of you your entire lives. Death holds no power over love, especially the love of a mother and grandmother. For this reason, we can never completely lose our mothers and grandmothers.
