Madison woman taken to hospital after her car struck by stolen vehicle, police say

Police said they are searching for the person responsible for hitting a Madison woman’s vehicle with a stolen SUV on Sunday.

According to an incident report, the woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries after another driver sped through a red light on E. Washington Ave. and struck the woman’s car. She was taken to the hospital for chest and neck pain.

Officers later located the damaged vehicle unoccupied at the intersection of E. Main St. and S. Livingston St. The vehicle was reported stolen out of Fort Atkinson, according to the incident report.

Police said they are still trying to identify the person driving at the time of the crash.
