Madison SWAT team called to west side house after reported weapons violation

MADISON, Wis. — The Madison Police Department’s SWAT team has one man in custody Sunday morning after searching a home on the 2000 block of Frisch Road overnight.

Officers were called there in response to a weapons offense. When they arrived, they found two people outside the house and one still inside, reportedly with a weapon.

After establishing a perimeter around the house, they executed a search warrant and arrested 25-year-old Daniel Smith inside.

Officers say they are still investigating and that charges are pending.
