Madison steps up big time to support Read Up! Madison Fund

I guess we’re really not surprised, but we are certainly gratified at the response to our Read Up! Madison fundraising campaign. So let’s start by saying thank you.

The project, by WISC TV and the Wisconsin State Journal, to support the Madison School District’s summer reading programs and help all of our kids keep their learning momentum going through the summer, ends in about two weeks. To date, more than 400 donors have contributed close to seventy thousand dollars.

Last week, one of this community’s most generous organizations, Attic Angels, contributed an unexpected fifteen thousand dollar check. MGE has stepped up. So has Smart Motors, and obviously hundreds of individuals led by Jane Doughty and David Wood.
