Madison police searching for man who robbed convenience store at gunpoint

MADISON, Wis. — Madison Police are looking for a man they say tried to rob the Stop ‘n Go convenience store on Winnebago Street around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
The clerk told officers the man showed a handgun and demanded money. She said she was ordered to wait in a back room of the store while the man ran away.
The clerk, a 28-year-old woman, wasn’t hurt.
Police describe the suspect as a black man in his late 20s or early 30s, estimated around 5 feet, 7 inches tall, wearing a dark mask and dark-colored clothes.
A K9 track was completed but officers were unable to find the suspect.
