Madison man arrested for 6th OWI
A Madison man is facing his sixth operating while intoxicated charge after he crashed his scooter Friday evening.
A witness said they saw Thomas H. Zemp crash at the intersection of Camden Road and Buckeye Road around 5 p.m.
The witness told police Zemp jumped back on the scooter and fled to a diner off Cottage Grove Road.
When officers confronted Zemp, he reportedly denied being involved in a crash, even though he was covered in road rash on one side of his body.
He was taken into custody for his 6th offense OWI. Authorities say Zemp was also not wearing a helmet.
