Madison Man Arrested After New Year’s Day Burglary
A Madison man was arrested early New Year’s Day on suspicion of committing a burglary near the University of Wisconsin campus.
Police said Lucas Jorgensen, 21, burglarized a home in the 1000 block of Mound Street at around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
Authorities said a passerby heard the sound of breaking glass and saw a flashlight in the residence.
Officers found forced entry to the home and stopped Jorgensen as he left the area on foot.
Jorgensen was also charged with damaging property, police said.
