Cottage Grove Road reopens after deadly crash that killed three people
MADISON, Wis. — Three people are dead after a crash on Cottage Grove Road at Highway 51 Tuesday morning, according to Madison police.
The multi-vehicle crash was reported just after 9:21 a.m. Tuesday.

Madison Fire officials said two people died at the scene, and two people were taken to the hospital, one with life-threatening injuries. Madison police say that person later died. The other person taken to the hospital suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Cottage Grove Road reopened just after 2:20 p.m. Tuesday.
Dane County officials said four ambulances, Madison Police, and Madison Fire crews were all dispatched to the scene.
The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating the crash.
In the meantime, officials with the Madison Police Department say their thoughts go out to the families affected.
“You have multiple families impacted. Three people lost their lives today and that’s hard,” said Madison Police public information officer Stephanie Fryer. “It’s hard for us to see this and it’s hard for us to just deal with what they are going through, and we just want to offer any support that we can.”
