Madison company recalls infant bicycle helmets

Pacific Cycle is recalling infant bicycle helmets with magnetic no-pinch chin strap buckles because the magnets can come loose and become a choking hazard, according to the recall alert.

About 129,000 units that are sold exclusively at Target are being recalled, officials said.

The helmets are made for children ranging from one to three years old, according to the alert. The helmet and its straps come in various colors and design patterns. “Schwinn” is printed on the front of the helmets.

Only helmets with the magnetic no-pinch chin strap buckles are affected by the recall, officials said.

The company has received three reports of the plastic cover coming loose, but no injuries have been reported.
