M. Clementine Pauls

RIO/MADISON-M. Clementine Pauls, age 95, passed away on Friday, June 1, 2012 at Larson House in Columbus. She was born on June 29, 1916 in Switzerland and came to the US. In 1920 with her mother after her father passed away.
Clem graduated from UW-Whitewater in 1937. She was united in marriage to Earl Dale Pauls on Aug. 17, 1942, in Belleville. Clem raised many foster children in her early years. She taught 2nd and 3rd grade at St. Bernard Catholic School, Madison, was an in-home daycare provider and owner/operator of The Midget Kitchen in Rio. Clem sewed hundreds of Dalmation puppies for the Madison Fire Department. She was an active member of the Wilmar Center, R.S.V.P., Wisconsin Campers Association, and was a former member of St. Dennis Parish.
Clem is survived by her four children, Pat, (Phyllis) of Columbus, Dennis (Rose) of Sun Prairie, Bruce (Lyn) of McFarland and Judy (Rob) Noyce of Cottage Grove;
12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Dale.
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, June 6, 2012. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. Memorials may be made in Clem’s name to R.S.V.P. or the Wilmar Center.
